LUNA was created in 1999 as a response to requests from female fans of CLIF BAR and the women here at our office. They wanted a bar with fewer calories and women-specific ingredients—and no bar like that existed.
With just 180 calories, each LUNA bar contains 23 vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that contribute to a woman's overall health.
LUNA has soy protein to promote heart health; calcium for strong bones; folic acid for a healthy heart and healthy babies; B-vitamins; iron and antioxidants such as Vitamins A, C and E that contribute to overall wellness.
LUNA wants you to know about the ingredients we use in our products as well as understand why we use them. We take special care in choosing our ingredients because we want to create nutritious, natural products that actually taste great too.
When we choose our ingredients, it is of the utmost importance that they are high quality, 100% natural, taste delicious, and contribute to women's nutrition.
Our ingredients come from natural sources, meaning they do not have added colors, flavorings, or preservatives, and are processed less than other products. We also think that less processing brings us closer to foods truly found in nature.
Along with being 100% natural, LUNA does not contain trans fats or use genetically modified ingredients. LUNA is currently 25% organic and we are always looking to source more organic ingredients such as organic roasted soybeans organic oats which both provide natural protein and fiber.
We look to choose ingredients that retain more nutrients like essential vitamins and minerals, are close to nature's original source and contribute to overall nutritional value.
