Third on the list is protein - Lee Haney's Pro-Plex Protein Powder Blend with Sweet Potato . Protein is needed to repair cells and tissue. Quality protein is needed to build complex immune system molecules, called nucleotides, and other specialized cell materials. Exercise and physical activity can break down muscle matrix fiber, and stimulate muscle growth, but no growth of any kind, muscle or otherwise, will take place without quality protein. A quality protein will contain all 20 or so amino acids, the 8 essential ones, plus the other 12 or 14 other so-called non-essential acids. A quality protein will have the essential and non-essentials in proper balance to achieve an excellent P.E.R. or protein efficiency ratio, or rating.
